Milling day at Gunbower

On Sunday 10 September a milling day was held on John Toll's farm (Circle T) at Gunbower. John and Mal Johnson organised the day after recognising a number of trees had been felled throughout the region over the past few years were in danger of simply being burnt. The logs were from tree species including Dutch Elm, Silky Oak, Lemon Scented Gum, and Red gum.

Lindsay Cail performed the work with his Lucas portable milling rig and t he wood is now being air dried at Nullabor Timbers in Echuca. After three months it will be examined to see if kiln drying is required.
